EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CARRIER

Prof. Barbara Cavalazzi obtained her MSc in Geology at the University of Chieti-Pescara in 1999, and her Ph. D. in Paleontology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2005. She continued her research activities at the Università di Bologna, Portland State University, Centre de Biophysique Moléculaire-CNRS, and University of Johannesburg. Since 2012 she is staff member at the University of Bologna and Adjunct Researcher at the University of Johannesburg. She is expert in high resolution technics applied to microbial paleontology, and in field geobiology. Since 2019, she is President of the European Astrobiology Network Association-EANA.
