Tenured Assistant Professor since May 2024 and Ph.D in Human Geography (2014) at the Universities of Fribourg and Verona, he held post-doctoral fellowships at the CNRS in Paris (2015), at the Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Research in Bremen (2016), at the University of Manchester (2017) and at the University of Bologna (2018-2020). Since 2021 has been Junior Assistant Professor at the same university.
His research contributes to Political Ecology, Environmental Politics and Conflicts in relation to socio-environmental reconfigurations and climate change issues. Empirically, research has focused on water governance transformations in Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan), coastal development policies in South-east Asia (Vietnam) and more recently on urban natures and mountain environmental conservation and futures in Italy and Central Asia (Uzbekistan-Tajikistan)
Research has been published in high-ranked international academic journals such as Political Geography, Geoforum, ACME, Environmental Development, among others
