The research consists of three main topics:
1) Over-expression of recombinant proteins in Escherichia
coli. The aim of this study is to develop an efficient
expression system in bacteria in order to produce high level of
target proteins.
2) Study of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis protein tyrosin-phosphatase A (MpTpA). Analysis of its conformational transition during catalysis by steady-state and pre-staedy-state assays.
3) Study of the Escherichia coli DNA polymerase III. This essential oloenzyme is responsible for bacterial genome replication and it is composed of ten different subunits. The goal of the research is to study the assembly in vivo of these subunits.
