Alberto Danielli is Associate Professor of Molecular Biology at the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology of the University of Bologna. He has a strong background in fundamental aspects of gene regulation and molecular cell biology of infectious pathogens and disease vectors. He is actively involved in phage biotechnological research, combining molecular techniques with synthetic biology approaches to exploit filamentous phages and virus-like particles as therapeutic vectors, as well as nanobiotechnological scaffolds for biosensors and bio-conjugations. AD participated to many research programs and has been awarded several research grants as independent PI. He is author of numerous research articles in the field of molecular microbiology and is co-inventor in 2 patent applications involving biotechnological phage applications. He is member of the Italian Society of General Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology (SIMGBM) and of the EMBL Alumni Association.
