Short Bio

Full Professor of Chinese Language and Culture at the Department of Interpreting and Translation of the University of Bologna. Her research activity focuses on Chinese contemporary calligraphy, with particular attention to the analysis of the main artistic expressions that deviate from traditional calligraphic forms (e.g. graffiti art). The main aim of her research is to provide a model for qualitative analysis of these new artistic expressions, proposing a new taxonomy of Chinese renewed calligraphy production, a systematic study on its language and texts, and revealing socio-political and economic implications of their emergence.
