The thesis subjects focus on the following topics:
1. Intelligent Materials for the realization of Self-Sensing Components for Automatic Machines and Mechatronic Systems (the topic is connected to projects in which are involved companies which make components in composite materials for the automatic machinery and robotics sector)
2. Advanced materials for the realization of ACTUATORS for Soft-Robotics and Automatic Machines; this topic is related to the following projects:
(i) POR-FESR ACMEC project (for use of shape memory materials, SMA, to realize actuators)
(ii) European project H2020 MAGNIFY, https://www.magnifyproject.eu/ (for the realization of nanostructured and hierarchical artificial muscles inspired by nature)
3. Use of Additive Manufacturing technologies for the realization of components and actuators for Soft-Robotics and Automatic Machines; this topic is connected to the POR-FESR ACMEC project for the printing of shape memory materials to obtain actuators in free form conditions.
4. Design and Test on robotic prosthesis of human lower limbs and its components in self-sensing composite materials (this activity is linked to the European project H2020 MyLEG, http://www.myleg.eu/)
5. Study and design of automatic systems for the assembly of cells for the "battery pack" realization (this activity is connected to the regional POR-FESR Liber project for the study and realization of new generation battery packs)
