Alessandro Fortunato

Alessandro Fortunato is an Associate Professor in Technology and Manufacturing Systems, ING-IND / 16, at the University of Bologna since 2017. In 2005 he received the PhD in "Mechanics of Materials and Manufacturing Technology" with a thesis on laser welding technologies for metallic materials. He is a member of the Board Doctorate School in AUTOMOTIVE for INTELLIGENT MOBILITY, he is President of the Internship Commission for the Mechanical Engineering course and is Associate Editor of the Laser in Manufacturing and Material Processing Journal, published by Springer. His research topics are: Laser material processing; Laser fabrication via Additive Manufacturing (AM); Ultra-short laser material interactions; Lasers in biological applications; Machine tools and machine tool dynamics.
