My main interests lie in translation studies, audiovisual translation studies and pragmatics, with a focus on (im)politeness phenomena in film dialogue and translation. More specifically, I am interested in how pragmatic and (im)politeness-related language features are handled in film conversation, both cross-linguistically and in dubbing and subtitling. Recently, I have branched out to include, in my research, reception studies in audiovisual translation through quantitative, survey-based investigations in audio-description for the blind and the partially sighted.
