Senior Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering “Guglielmo Marconi” - DEI, University of Bologna. He works in the field of electrical energy conversion systems for the recharge of electric vehicles and electromagnetic modeling.

Education

He graduated with honors in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino in March 2013. In 2017, he received, the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering (with honors) at the Politecnico di Torino and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Electrical, Optical, Bio-Physics and Engineering (EOBE) Doctoral School of the Université Paris-Saclay.

Academic Career

From 2017 to 2020, Vincenzo Cirimele was a Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Energy "Galileo Ferraris" of the Politecnico di Torino.
Since November 2021, he has held the position of Senior Assistant Professor at the .
In November 2021 he obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in the scientific disciplinary sector ING/ENG-31 Electrical Engineering.

Teaching Activities

From 2017 to 2020 he was a collaborator for the courses of Electrical Engineering and Electrical Machines and Electrical Plants at the Politecnico di Torino performing classroom and laboratory exercises for several courses of the Bachelor degrees.
In 2020 he was the holder of the third level course Laboratory of wireless power transfer for electric vehicles for the PhD course in Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering at Politecnico di Torino.
In the academic year 2018/2019, he was the holder of the course Introduction to electrical engineering - Electrical machines at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan for the undergraduate course in Mechanical And Energy Engineering.

Scientific activity

Dr. Cirimele is author of more than 30 scientific publications as journal articles and proceedings in international conferences and co-inventor of 4 industrial patents.
He collaborated to several European projects such as the FABRIC project and the MICEV project both focused on electric mobility and in particular on inductive charging systems for static and moving electric vehicles.
He has been scientific responsible for research contracts and consultancies for private sector companies.
He is currently member of the International Electrotechnical Committee in the Technical Committee 68 - Alloys and magnetic steels and in the Technical Committee 14 - Transformers.

Awards and Recognition

In 2016, his research project "Etude et développement d'un système de transmission sans contact d'énergie électrique pour la recharge des véhicules électriques pendant le mouvement" (study and development of a contactless electrical energy transmission system for the recharge of electric vehicles in motion) was awarded with a scholarship conferred by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ambassade de France en Italie.
In 2015, he received the "2015 Quality Award" conferred by the college of the PhD course in Electronic Engineering of the Doctoral School of the Politecnico di Torino.

Other activities

From September 2020 to November 2021 he worked for the R&D and Innovation group at Movyon s.p.a., a company of the Autostrade per l'Italia group. He held the role of R&D Stream Specialist i.e. technical-scientific manager of research projects related to the development of technologies for the production and management of electricity from alternative and renewable sources and technologies in support of electric mobility.

Since May 2019 he is among the founding partners of the start-up Enermove s.r.l. that deals with the development, production and marketing of systems for wireless charging of industrial electric vehicles in motion and stationary.
