EDUCATION AND ACADEMIC CAREER

From 10/02/25: Fixed-term employment as Chief Biologist in Clinical Pathology, following successful outcome of the public selection process (by qualifications and interview), according to art. 15 septies, paragraph 1, of Legislative Decree n.502/92, for the assignment of a fixed-term position as CHIEF BIOLOGIST IN CLINICAL PATHOLOGY, to be carried out at the UOC ANATOMY AND PATHOLOGICAL HISTOLOGY - D’ERRICO, IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Policlinico Sant’Orsola, Bologna.

From 09/2/2025: On leave from Alma Mater University of Bologna.

Since November 2018: Permanent Technical Officer, Category D – technical-scientific area and data processing, at DIBINEM - University of Bologna, supporting scientific research in the field of ultrastructural pathology, applying techniques such as transmission and scanning electron microscopy, negative staining, immunoelectron microscopy, histopathology, histochemistry, and immunohistochemistry.

In April 2018, awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship from Alma Mater University of Bologna for a training and research period at the Renal Pathology Unit of Prof. Anthony Chang, University of Chicago, USA, focusing on ultrastructural renal pathology and initiating a research study on renal biopsies from SLE patients. Gained new skills and training in the use of the Jem Jeol Plus Electron Microscope.

From 2017 to present: Tutor for the Medical Biotechnology degree program, University of Bologna.

From February 2015 to November 2018: Fixed-term Technical Officer, Category D – technical-scientific area and data processing, at DIBINEM - University of Bologna.

From February 2014 to February 2015: Recipient of a research grant at DIBINEM (University of Bologna) on the project “Morphological and functional study of protein aggregates in myofibrillar myopathies and Inclusion Body Myositis.”

From February 2013 to February 2014: Recipient of a research grant at DIBINEM (University of Bologna) on the project “The role of miRNAs in the regenerative and differentiation mechanisms of normal human satellite cells and in ALS.”

From February 2012 to February 2013: Recipient of a research grant at the Department of Clinical Radiological and Histocytopathological Sciences (University of Bologna) on the project “Molecular characterization of satellite cells in ALS for a new diagnostic approach.”

Since 2007, actively participates in national, European, and international update conferences.

Member of the Renal Pathology Society, European Society for Pathology, and SIAPEC-IAP. Member of the support team to the Director of the Italian Group for Ultrastructural Pathology (GIPU).

During university years, served on the Board of the cultural association Nova Atlantis.

Trained in scouting and has musical skills with previous experience in a local band (Municipality of Folignano) as a clarinettist.

Amateur guitarist.
