OTHER:

TIME PERIOD: 01st September 2012 – 31st December 2012

ACTIVITY: Three months research grant at “Dipartimento di Chimica Industriale “Toso Montari” – Università di Bologna”.

DESCRIPTION: Research project regarding the gas phase methylation of phenol with methanol over heterogeneous basic and redox catalysts

TIME PERIOD: 14th September 2015 – 19th December 2015

ACTIVITY: Three months of foreign period (during the PhD) in the research group of Prof. Sir Martyn Poliakoff in the “School of Chemistry” of the University of Nottingham.

DESCRIPTION: Research project regarding the photo-oxidation reactions of natural terpenes in the presence of a photosensitizer, using dimethyl carbonate (DMC) as new green solvent both in batch and in high-pressure flow reactor using sc-CO2 as co-solvent.

PhD PROGRAMME

TIME PERIOD: 01st January 2013 – 31st December 2015

ACTIVITY: Chemistry PhD programme at “Dipartimento di Chimica Industriale “Toso Montari” – Università di Bologna”.

DESCRIPTION: Research project regarding the synthesis and reactivity studies of organic carbonates, both with homogeneous or heterogeneous catalysts. In particular, through the reaction between carbon dioxide and alcohols or diols or the carbonate interchange reaction of light carbonates for the synthesis of heavier ones. Reactivity study regarding the gas-phase alkylation of aromatics with organic carbonates using both acidic and basic catalytic systems.
