Tommaso Gnoli

Full Professor in Roman History teaching Roman History, Roman Historiography, History of the Roman provinces in the courses of studies in Literature, Classical Philology, History and Archaeology in Bologna.

His main focus are the Eastern provinces of the Roman Empire, in particular the Syro-Mesopotamian area (I-III CE). But he is also and expert in the history of Palmyra, late antique historiography (Historia-Augusta-Forschung), Roman religion ("Oriental" cults), Roman Epigraphy, and the age of the Punic wars.
