Short Bio

Professor at the University of Bologna since 2005, he is carriyng our researches within the field of structural engineering. His research interests focus mainly on the study of innovative systems for the reduction of seismic effects upon building structures and on the use of additive manufacturing in civil engineering. Currently his research is focused upon the following issues: optimization and design of seismic dissipative devices (both viscous and hystereic); sesmic behaviour of historyic and monumental buidlings, use of WAAM (wire and arc additive manufacturing) for civil construction. He is involved in both national and international research projects both privately and publicly funded.
Authour of more than 350 papers, he is member of the editorial board of the journal "Earthquake and Structures" (Tecno press), associate Editor of the journal"Frontiers of Built Environment" (EPFL).

Between March and May receiving hours are on Thursd. 13.00-14.30 at the "Facoltà di Architettura" in Cesena. The remains part of the year the receiving hours are Monday 13.00 - 14.30, at the Department DICAM Facoltà di Ingegneria, Viale Risorgimento, 2 Bologna. In both cases it is necessary to reserve an appointment by mail  at tomaso.trombetti@unibo.it.
