Short Bio

PhD in Earth Sciences, currently manager of the Deep Carbon Lab at the Department of Biological, Geological and Environmental Sciences, University of Bologna. His doctoral thesis was focused on the study of the thermal and tectonic evolution of three sedimentary basins at different degrees of structural inversion in Georgia (Adjara-Trialeti, Kura and Greater Caucasus), by using a multidisciplinary approach combining thermal maturity and thermochronological analyses to determine the burial and exhumation histories of the rocks analysed. A s a post-doc, he then concentrated on the identification and mapping of the potentially active and capable faults along the Emilian-Padan Pedeapenninic margin, between Reno and Enza rivers, starting from a detailed geologic-structural survey to integrate and anchor to solid field data the seismogenic evidences and the results of the geophysical surveys in order to reconstruct with high level of detail the 3D framework of the study area and determine the areas most prone to seismic risk.
