Stefano Sassone, born in 1972, holds a degree in Environmental Economics (from the Economics and Commerce program at "La Sapienza" University of Rome) and is an expert in the Economics and Management of circular and sustainable businesses.
He serves as a Consultant / technical-specialist Support and Professor for major public and private companies (including Enel, Eni Versalis, Novamont, Eni Versalis - Matrìca, the Municipality of Rome, the Italian Revenue Agency, the State Printing and Minting Institute, and Ferrarelle, among others).
As a freelancer, he carries out training, editorial, and publishing activities on the topics of waste management and renewable energy, with approximately 20 publications and a total of over 10,000 copies sold. He publishes with Giuffrè Editore (first title to be released in 2025) and EPC Roma (since 2013).
For the ninth consecutive year, since the association's inception on September 29, 2016, he has held the position of Director of the Technical Area of Confindustria Cisambiente, the most important Italian association protecting companies in the Environment and circular economy sector.
Since 2023 (until 2028), he has been an effective member of the National Register of Environmental Managers Committee, appointed by Decree of the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE, for which he was a substitute member since 2019). This body is responsible for regulating the entry of companies into the environmental protection sector and overseeing its integrity and operation.
He was a delegate for the Italian Government / Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) at the COP28 organized by the United Nations in November 2023, and will be for the organization of COP30 in Belém (Brazil) in 2025, on behalf and in the name of Confindustria Cisambiente.
He is an Adjunct Professor at some of Italy's most prestigious universities. For the 2025/2026 academic year, he is a Professor at Ca' Foscari University of Venice (Principles of Economics and Business Management, since A.Y. 22-23; Principles of Business Organization, since A.Y. 21-22) and at Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna in ESG Compliance.
He has been a Lecturer at the University of Siena (Economics and Business Management, A.Y. 23-24 and 24-25), the University of Camerino (Concepts of Managerial Economics and Production Economics, from A.Y. 21-22 to 24-25), and the University of Florence (Business Economics and Organization, from 2023 to 2025).
Also at Ca' Foscari, he taught Environmental Economics and Law (A.Y. 21-22), and "Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development" at the International University of Rome (A.Y. 22-23). He has been an Adjunct Professor in the Master's program in Environmental and Energy Law at the University of Teramo, Faculty of Law, since its first edition (A.Y. 20-21), and in the Master's program "Management for coordination roles in health professions" at the Department of Hygiene, "La Sapienza" University of Rome, teaching "Waste Management". Furthermore, he has also taught in the Master's program "Characterization and Technologies for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites" at La Sapienza University of Rome and in the Master's program "Management of Environmental Protection and Greenery Works" at the University of Perugia.
He is passionate about road marathons (having completed 10, including the Rome Marathon 5 times, the Venice Marathon 3 times, and the New York City Marathon, as well as numerous other running events as an amateur), volleyball (having played in provincial and regional leagues, C and D categories), and piano.
