Teaching

Dissertation topics suggested by the teacher.

Thesis (Engineering)
  • Opportunities for a Master's Thesis to be conducted partially or entirely abroad, principally at universities in the United Kingdom and the United States, such as Imperial College London, University of California San Diego, and others. The Thesis topic could also be rather different than the general thematics expressed below (and it may also depend on the specific interest of the host University)
  • Cross-validation of finite element models generated via in-house SAFE (Semi-Analytical Finite Element) algorithms and via the commercial software POGO (https://www.pogo.software/) (basic knowledge of Matlab is required)
  • Generation of finite element mesh for the modelling of guided wave propagation in concrete structures (basic knowledge of Matlab is required)
  • Generation of finite element mesh for the modelling of guided wave propagation in tendons (basic knowledge of Matlab is required)
  • Conversion of finite element mesh generated via open-source software (such as Gmsh) in Matlab format such that it could be used with POGO software (https://www.pogo.software/) (basic knowledge of Matlab is required)

Thesis (Design)

  • Conception/design/3D-printing of a set of tools that can serve as support for university courses on the topics of Structural Mechanics, Statics, and related ones
