Short Bio

Researcher and professor for the integrated Biochemistry course within the Master's Degree Program in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on:

  • The role of non-coding RNA in post-transcriptional processes such as modulation of mRNA stability and translation, RNA editing, nucleocytoplasmic trafficking, subcellular localization, as well as in epigenetic, mitochondrial, apoptotic functions, and cellular stress response;

  • The proteostasis system and protein quality control;

  • Signal transduction under cellular stress conditions;

  • The role of nutraceuticals and polyamines in modulating cellular aging and degenerative processes;

  • Investigation of cellular and molecular mechanisms in pathological contexts such as osteoarthritis and cardiovascular diseases.
