After graduation in Modern Literature in Bologna, she specialized in Archaeology and Art History at the University of Siena and was later awarded a doctorate at the University of Bologna.
She is an associate professor of Early Modern Art History, and has been licensed “Professore di Prima Fascia” (full tenured professor) by the Ministero dell’Istruzione, dell’Università e della Ricerca (MIUR) in 2017.
She is a member of the CIHA (Comité International d’Histoire de l’Art), of the Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Modena and member of the Academy of Europe.
Her main research fields are: reception of classic and religious themes in Medieval and Modern Art; Estensi dukes patronage of the arts; Benedictine arte and culture.
