Teaching Activities

Since the Academic Year 2024/2025, he has been teaching at the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, in the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Caring Applied to Personalized Health Pathways, 1 ECTS) and, from the Academic Year 2025/2026, also in the Master of Science in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences (Bibliographic Research Laboratory, 2 ECTS).

From the Academic Year 2021/2022 to 2024/2025, he collaborated with the Bologna 1 Teaching Section of the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at the University of Bologna as an expert in the design and implementation of the teaching activity “Handover Laboratory: Continuity of Care through Clinical Handover.”

He serves as a clinical tutor for students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, the Master of Science in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences, and the Master’s Programme in Critical Care Nursing. He also supervises undergraduate and graduate theses.

Research Activities

He conducts research at the IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Bologna in the field of education and professional development within the health professions.

His main research interests include the development and assessment of professional competencies, research methodology, and the promotion of evidence-based practice. He is scientific coordinator of training programmes aimed at integrating clinical practice, education, and research.

He participates in research and quality-improvement projects at institutional, regional, and multicentre levels, with a particular focus on care quality, innovation, and the professional advancement of healthcare workers. He is also involved in applied research, literature reviews, and validation studies on tools for competency assessment and the promotion of evidence-based practice.
