Curriculum vitae

Associate professor of Infectious Diseases of Domestic Animals at the University of Bologna. She is engaged in national and international research projects and she collaborates with various national and international research groups. She has dealt with bacterial diseases of animals, in particular, she performed researches on gastro-enteric spirillar bacterial population in dogs and cats, on spirillar enteric flora of chicken, turkey and rabbit, and investigation on diseases of newborne foal.

Nowadays, the main research topics are antimicrobial-resistance, studying resistance pattern of commensal bacteria isolated from animals, food, humans and environment; bovine bacterial diseases, such as mastitis, paratuberculosis and food borne infections; application and comparison of different kind of diagnostic tools.

She is the author / coauthor of 94 publications, of which 72 indexed.

For what concern teaching activities, in the past, she taught “Diagnostic of wild species”, “Veterinary Epidemiology”, “Professional Practical Training in Transmissible Diseases” and “Internship on Avian Diseases”. Currently, she teaches “Bacteriology and immunology” and “Practice in Pathology and Transmissible Diseases” at the Veterinary Medicine degree.

She is the head of the veterinary bacteriology laboratory of the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Bologna.
