Education

PhD in Visual, Performing, and Media Arts at the University of Bologna with the project:

Improving the fruition of ballet’s intangible assets through Digital Archives and Advanced Digital Technology products. A Case Study of Rudolf Nureyev (1938-1993).

Master's degree in Italian Studies and Linguistic Sciences (2020) with an interdisciplinary thesis in Theories and Poetics of Dance (Prof. Elena Cervellati - supervisor) and Contemporary Poetry (Prof. Niva Lorenzini - co-supervisor) titled: 'Dancing Poetry': A decade of dance and poetry in the choreographic work of Valeria Magli, with a grade of 110/110 with honors.

She studied classical dance at the National Academy of Dance in Rome.

 

Scientifc Activities

She has participated in and contributed to the organization of national and international conferences and, together with Elena Cervellati, curated the conference program of the ZED – International Festival of Videodance and New Technologies from 2022 to 2025.

In 2024, she was a keynote speaker at "UU-KIEN" at Utrecht University and part of the teaching staff for the Cambridge Cultural Heritage Data School at the University of Cambridge.

In 2023, she conducted her research in France, working at the archives of the Opéra national de Paris and the Centre National de la Danse in Pantin.

In 2022, she received a scholarship for the Digital Humanities Oxford Summer School at the University of Oxford.

 

Institutional and academic activities

Since 2022, she has been a Cultor of the subject for the Dance History chair in the DAMS degree program. 

In 2022, she won a scholarship at the University of Oxford (Digital Humanities Oxford Summer School).

In 2023, she conducted research in France at the archives of the Opéra national de Paris and at the Centre National de la Danse in Pantin. In 2024, she completed a research stay abroad at the Department of Digital Humanities of the University of Cambridge.

In 2025, she was a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute – Bibliotheca Hertziana in Rome, where she participated in the activities of the research group Machine Visual Culture: Artificial Intelligence and the Cultural History of Seeing.

 

Membership of scientific or editorial boards

She has been a member of the editorial board of Danza e Ricerca. Laboratorio di studi, scritture, visioni since 2021 and of Il castello di Elsinore since 2026.
