Research

During my master's thesis internship, I studied fullerene-protein hybrid nanosystems and the synthesis of protein nanoparticles (BSA-NPs) exploring their properties and potential applications in different fields. During my Ph.D., I delved into the use of protein nanoparticles as nucleating agents for the heterogeneous nucleation of biological macromolecules. I also expanded my research by including the structural study of photosynthetic enzymes involved in the Calvin Benson cycle, contributing to the understanding of key mechanisms of photosynthesis.

Recently, I started a new research project that aims to exploit calcium carbonate obtained from biogenic sources as a fertilizer for potato cultivation. This research is part of a circular economy, where the goal is to develop sustainable agricultural solutions and reduce our environmental impact.
