The research activity falls entirely within the field of Physics Education and History of Physics (SSD FIS/08). The research primarily focuses on the following topics:
- Educational reconstruction of topics in modern and contemporary physics (quantum physics);
- Design and development of approaches and modules for quantum technology education at different educational levels (from secondary school to university);
- Interdisciplinary connections among physics, mathematics, and computer science, with a focus on both STEM topics and curricular themes;
- Interdisciplinarity between art and science;
- Conceptual understanding and models of conceptual change;
- Models of teacher education;
- Methods for the qualitative analysis of classroom data;
- Analysis of complex learning environments;
- Scientific citizenship.
The development of these research themes involves the design and testing of innovative educational materials, as well as the implementation of pilot educational activities at different school levels and within teacher education contexts.
