Curriculum vitae

Sara Pedrazzoli is at present a PhD student at the University of Bologna, Italy. She is carrying out a three-year research project funded by the Italian Ministry of Health and her area of her research is avian infectious diseases under the supervision of Professor Elena Catelli.

Sara graduated with honors in October 2021 in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Parma with a thesis entitled Escherichia coli and food safety: occurrence of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) in Triveneto (Northern Italy)”. On the 1st of January of the following year, she started her PhD.

The aim of her project is to set up new vaccination protocols for the control of an immunosuppressive disease of fowl, the Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD), in order to increase the health of the birds and reduce the use of antimicrobials.
