I lead the DEGAS ERC project, aimed at reconstructing degassing from Large Igneous Provinces, tackling the problem from several perspectives, such as:

. Magma-sediment interaction in sills and dykes: finding proxies for mobilisation of volatile elements from sedimentary host-rocks, and potential late stage entrapment in the magma bodies or and their metamorphic aureoles.

. Petrogenesis of alkaline and tholeiitic magmas from Large Igneous Provinces: geochemical signatures, intrusive-extrusive relations, crustal assimilation, regional controls on mantle melting.

. Determination of S concentrations in magmas in equilibrium with clinopyroxene by in-situ S quantification in clinopyroxene by Synchrotron light microfluorescence. Sulfur concentrations in magmas allows detection of potential volcanic winters and track magma-host rock interaction.

I am active on several LIPs, mostly Skagerrak-Oslo Rift, Karoo, Siberian Traps, Deccan Traps, Central Atlantic Magmatic Province, Franklin, High Arctic Large Igneous Province.
