Short Bio

Roberto Pinto, (Rome 1961), an art historian and curator, focuses on public art, the history of exhibitions and the relationship between art and literature. Published essays include: Lucy Orta, Phaidon, 2003; Nuove geografie artistiche. Le mostre al tempo della globalizzazione, Postmedia books, 2012; Artisti di Carta. Territori di confine tra arte e letteratura, Postmedia books, 2016; Le relazioni oltre le immagini. Approcci teorici e pratiche dell’arte pubblica (edited together with Cecilia Guida), Postmedia books 2022. He has organised exhibitions in numerous Italian and foreign institutions, was curator of the 5th Gwangju Biennial in South Korea and the 3rd Tirana Biennial, and is currently coordinating Artline a permanent public art project for the Municipality of Milan. He teached at the University of Trento and Bocconi University in Milan, and has been teaching at the Department of Arts, University of Bologna since 2012.
