Supervisor of grants for research activity such as: “H2020, Innovative Food Product Development Cycle: Frame for Stepping Up Research Excellence of FINS – FOODstars” (Grant Agreement: GA nr. 692276);
Supervisor of a grant (Rep. n. 1/2011, UniBo) by Regione Emilia-Romagna “Interdepartmental Centers For Industrial Research” on analytical methods for toxicological characterization of novel materials.

He has been a member of Research Units involved in PRIN MIUR and European Grant by VII Framework Program. BISNES: Bio-Inspired Self-Assembled Nano-Enabled Surfaces. He is the supervisor (Research Unit of UniBo) of the project/grant (by PRIN MIUR 2022) "Quality by Design approach for the development of validated analytical platforms to be used for recombinant proteins characterization and Quality Control (QubyD4Prot)".

Member of Editorial Advisory Board of Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis (Elsevier) and Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis Open (Elsevier).
Prof. Gotti has been a member of the board of Doctorate in Chemistry and is a member of the board of Doctorate in Biochemistry and Biotechnolgy (University of Bologna).

Research interests
Prof. Gotti is involved in the general field of pharmaceutical analysis and in particular in development, validation and application of new methods by means of separation techniques (HPLC and Capillary Electrophoresis, CE). Prof. Gotti is author and co-author of more than 140 publications on international journals and several communications (poster, oral, invited) to national and international Congresses.

Teaching activity
Teaching activity (since academic year 1999/2000) involves courses dealing with Pharmaceutical Analysis at the School of Pharmacy, Biotechnology and Sport Science. Prof. Gotti has taught at Individual Teaching Program on advanced separation techniques at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Université Descartes, Paris (Master level).
