Educational background
- Degree (cum laude) in Philosophy from the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy – University of Bologna,
- PhD in Pedagogy from the Faculty of Education – University of Bologna.
Research
From bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a PhD in Pedagogy, research and teaching focus on integral education and personal, community and ecosystemic wellbeing, the holistic perspective and embodied education. Her academic experience is complemented by the study, practice and teaching of body-based and meditative disciplines (drawing on Far Eastern traditions, paths of knowledge and self-exploration). In particular, she prioritises approaches to care through programmes focused on health, wellbeing and self-expression, using bodily experience as an ethical and aesthetic experience. In particular, the focus on education through the body is aimed, on the one hand, at restoring dignity – within training – to the physical, emotional and affective dimension (as well as to artistic language and non-verbal forms of expression), and, on the other hand, at re-establishing the scientific legitimacy of workshop-based experience as a means of fostering critical, self-reflective, expressive, communicative and collaborative skills, on the other.
Activities
Since 2007, continuous teaching activity at the School of Psychology and Education Sciences at the University of Bologna - 1st and 2nd cycle degree programmes, in charge of pedagogy course units and workshops.
Since the 2009 academic year, she has been leading workshop-based teaching activities for professional training: ‘Education through the body’ and ‘Education through artistic and expressive languages’.
Since the 2010 academic year, he has been teaching ‘Pedagogy of Deviance’ – Master’s programme, Rimini campus.
Since the 2019–20 academic year, he has been the course lecturer for the English-taught course ‘Education as life design: Body, mind, emotion and well-being’
Since 2006, she has been designing and running body-based educational workshops for schools ranging from nursery to upper secondary level, and teaches martial arts and meditation practices.
Member of scientific and editorial committees at scientific societies and research centres.
Affiliation
