Remo Grillo’s research lies within Digital Humanities and focuses on integrating language models, knowledge graphs and ontologies, with particular attention to cultural heritage data. He develops neurosymbolic artificial intelligence methods for natural-language querying and information retrieval that exploit the structure and relationships within these data, aiming to improve the reliability, verifiability and explainability of generated answers. He also investigates the philosophical and epistemological aspects of artificial intelligence, particularly the relationship between language, knowledge and intentionality.
