This research project involves developing and validating advanced water injection control strategies for high-performance engines, with the goal of enhancing efficiency and reducing emissions.
The activity includes building and calibrating detailed 1-D powertrain models in GT-SUITE using experimental data from test benches and vehicles, then implementing and testing water injection control laws in Simulink through SiL and HiL environments. I work with adaptive and model predictive control, as well as digital twin concepts, to optimize water injection timing and quantity under varying operating conditions.
