After graduating with honours in law from the University of Bologna with a thesis on ‘Mandatory rules and Unidroit principles on international commercial contracts’, I continued my studies in European Union Law, attending an advanced course (corso di perfezionamento) on the subject and writing a thesis entitled ‘The impact of EC law on the regulation of the form of acts relating to contractual relationships in the light of the most recent Community case law’, for which I made use of the library of the Court of
Justice of the European Union. In 2004, I obtained my PhD with a thesis entitled ‘The impact of Community law on Italian civil law and the imbalance of contractual positions’, which was assessed by the commission as excellent with honours. Subsequently, after receiving scholarships, I taught courses asan adjunct professor in the schools of economics, political science and law at the University of Bologna. Since 19 December 2019, I have been Associate Professor of European Union Law in the Department of Legal Sciences at the University of Bologna
