Description:
The workshop “Body and nature” was developed as part of a weekend during which the participants, in a constant confrontation with the artist and photographer Peter Puklus, produced a series of images presented at the end of the workshop. The workshop aimed to understand the meaning of the body as an object present in nature, seen from the point of view of a photographer. What is “nature” to man? How can you communicate your feelings to the outside world? Through the language of photography, we tried to answer these questions individually and in groups. The challenge was to analyze and question ourselves and our connection to the world, including our peers, friends, and the physical dimension around us. The personal experiences were put into play within a creative process that allowed participants to compete with the theme of portrait and self-portrait, still life and those everyday objects that they love or hate each other.

Body and Object A photography workshop with Peter Puklus at DOOR, Rome, Italy. This workshop focuses on understanding the meaning of “object” in photography and the resulting creative process that can arise from it. Portraits and self-portraits, still lifes and more will be made. You will work individually and in small and large teams/groups and in different sessions. Location: you will start inside the spaces of Door, then go out into the streets and nearby places and finally finish inside. The Hero Mother - How to build a house Peter Puklus 120 Pages 16x23 cm Hard cover Design by Paolo Berra Co-published by Images Vevey Published in October 2021 ISBN 979-12-80177-07-0 Puklus deconstructs and questions the dynamics of the pre-established female and male roles: motherhood as an alleged heroic activity and the supposed duty of the father to build and protect the home. His search breaks down the traditional symbols associated with maternal and paternal figures in a playful yet critical way. Outside the confines of the photographic studio, he develops an original visual vocabulary around parental life and issues related to the construction of the family nucleus. Presented and internationally premiered at Images Vevey, Switzerland, the installation reconstructs the everyday life and unfolds in the intimacy of home: in each room, the viewer discovers the complexity of ourselves.
