Paulina Sabugal has been a researcher at the University of Bologna since December 2022. The research project she is working on,
POLOV: The politics of love: Marriage migration and governance in Spain, Italy and United Kingdom, is part of an innovative line of research that links love and migration at the intersection of the sociology of emotions, sociology of imaginary, legal anthropology, classical migration studies and the critical study of law and gender. Previously, she worked at the European University Institute and the Historical Archives of the European Union as part of its educational program. Member of the ASAFAL Inter-University Center for Comparative Area Studies: Asia, Africa, Latin America based at the University of Siena and the Love Research Network. Postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, Beatriu de Pinòs fellow to conduct research at the Rovira i Virgili University in Catalonia, Spain and winner of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship.
