Paulina Sabugal Paz holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences with a specialization in sociology of cultural processes from the University of Pisa in co-tutelation with the University Roma Tre in Italy. Her scientific interests are framed in an innovative line of research linking love and migration from an interdisciplinary approach that relates to the sociology of emotions, legal anthropology, classical migration studies, sociology of the imaginary and gender studies. Her international and interdisciplinary training makes her an autonomous researcher able to work in different environments, with people from other disciplines and from different countries. This training has allowed her to carry out different research stays abroad and to present her work in international congresses in Europe and Latin America

As a result of these skills, since her doctoral discussion, she has collaborated with the European University Institute and the Historical Archives of the European Union in the framework of its educational program. She is currently a Researcher (junior) at the Department of Arts of the University of Bologna.
