Paula Marqués Hernández is a philologist, translator, and lecturer specializing in contemporary literature, Cultural Studies, and Gender Studies. From 2021 to 2026, she was an adjunct lecturer in Catalan Language and Literature at the University of Bologna and has also taught at the University of Milan, the University of Verona, and Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She is a certified DELE examiner and has collaborated in the organization of official Catalan language certifications (CLE) promoted by the Institut Ramon Llull. She works with Italian and Catalan publishing houses as a literary translator and cultural mediator. Her recent translations include Alçar el vol and De viva veu by Antonio Ferrara, El seu marit by Luigi Pirandello, and the poetry collection Il settimo sestiere / El setè sestiere by Pilar Solé. She is Communications Officer of the Associazione Italiana di Studi Catalani (AISC) and a member of several academic associations, regularly taking part in research projects, conferences, and initiatives devoted to literature, translation, and cultural studies.
