Paolo Spath (MD, PhD, FEBVS) is a tenure-track University Researcher PhD of Vascular Surgery at the DIMEC, University of Bologna, Rimini Campus, and a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at "Infermi" Hospital, Rimini (AUSL Romagna).
He earned his medical degree in Ferrara and completed his residency in Vascular Surgery and PhD in Surgical Sciences in Bologna, followed by an aortic research fellowship at LMU Munich. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Vascular Surgery (FEBVS) and a member of its Board of Examination, and since 2024 holds the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor (06/E01).
His work centres on vascular and endovascular surgery, focusing on complex aortic disease (EVAR, FEVAR, BEVAR, TEVAR), visceral artery aneurysms and percutaneous access. Author of over 85 indexed publications, he is Assistant Editor of the Journal of Endovascular Therapy and active in European and international training collaborations.
