Laurea degree in Physics in 1982. Researcher of the Istituto
Nazionale di Geofisica from 1982 to 1992. Associate Professor
of Solid Earth Geophysics at the Faculty of Mathematical of the
Physical and Natural Sciences of the University of Florence since
1992 then at the University of Bologna from 1995 to 2007. Full
Professor of Solid Earth Geophysics at the School of Mathematical,
Physical and Natural Sciences of the University of Bologna since
2007. Since 1992, he has been in charge of several courses
among which: Physics of the Earth, Marine Geophysics, Seismology,
Solid Earth Physics of the Laurea courses in Geological Sciences at
the University of Florence, and in Geological Sciences, Physics and
Environmental Sciences at the University of Bologna. Member of the
Teaching Board of the Doctorate course in Geophysics at the
University of Bologna. From 1989 to 1991 he spent some periods of
study and research at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Coordinator or research units responsible of several CNR, ASI,
MIUR, and INGV/DPC projects and of four approved PRIN/COFIN
projects and of the project EU H2020 RISE. Author of more than 180 scientific papers, more than half of which on ISI journals, with more than 3400 citations in
total (H-index=30).
