Paolo Di Bartolo

Paolo Di Bartolo is Full Professor (Professore Straordinario, fixed-term appointment) of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the University of Bologna (Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, Ravenna Campus) since 1 October 2025. He serves as Director of the Department of Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases in Ravenna and leads the Diabetes Care Program of the Romagna Local Health Authority.

His clinical and research activities are focused on diabetes, with particular emphasis on quality of care, reduction of therapeutic inertia, appropriate use of technologies, and digital health. He is principal investigator and co-investigator in numerous national and international clinical studies and has authored an extensive body of scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals.

He has held major institutional and scientific leadership roles, including National President of the Italian Association of Clinical Diabetologists (AMD) and President of the AMD Foundation. He is currently a member of the national board of the European Diabetes Forum
