1. Metaphor and Abstract Concepts in Cognitive Linguistics

Study of the role of metaphor and metonymy in the representation and structuring of abstract concepts, with particular attention to mechanisms of abstraction and grounding in experience.

2. The Semantics of Action Verbs and the Representation of Events

Analysis of the semantics of action verbs (from a cross-linguistic perspective) and their contribution to the construction of abstract meaning, including in relation to semantic variation and image schemas.

3. Metaphor, Health, and Communication in Digital Contexts

Investigation of metaphorical language in sensitive domains, particularly in discourses on anorexia nervosa (therapeutic contexts and social media), through corpus-based and multimodal approaches.
