Associate Professor at University of Bologna since 2021, his research topic is aquaculture. His research interests are focus on breeding technologies for commercial fish species and endangered species. At present he is working on induced reproduction and larval weaning of European eel, octopus and sturgeons.
He is involved in national and international research projects, collaborating with many European institutes. He is author of many peer reviewed articles
