Nicolò Maldina

Short Bio

Senior Assistant Professor (fixed-term) at the University of Bologna since 2020, he served as Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Leeds (2012-2015) and as Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh (2015-2020). In Autumn 2017 he held a Visiting Professorship at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

His research lies in the field of Medieval and Early-Modern Italian literature (namely Dante, Boccaccio and Ariosto) and of the religious and didactic literature between 13th-16th centuries. He studies also 20th c. Italian literature (Giuseppe Raimondi).

Member of the scientific and editorial committee of peer-reviewed journals, he took part to research projects (AHRC, ERC) and he received funds from international research institutes (RSE). He is member of the national research group “Dante&Noi” within the ADI and he is fellow of the Centro Studi Matteo Maria Boiardo (Scandiano) and of the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at the University of Edinburgh. At the DBC he acts as co-ordinator of the research team in Dante studies.

Since 2021 he is member of the Commissione ricerca at the DBC.
