Curriculum vitae

Nicola Barban is Full Professor of Demography at the Department of Statistical Sciences, University of Bologna. He holds a PhD in Statistical Sciences from the University of Padova and has previously worked at the universities of Groningen, Oxford, and Essex. His research lies at the intersection of social science, demography, and genomics. He studies fertility, family formation, and population dynamics, using quantitative analysis and computational approaches to understand how social, economic, and genetic factors interact in shaping demographic behaviours. He was a Research Fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, and a Research Affiliate at the Dondena Centre, Bocconi University.
