Myriam Gitti is an extragalactic astrophysicist with interest in the properties and evolution of clusters and groups of galaxies derived from multi-wavelength observations, and has a long-time expertise in observations in X-ray and radio bands.
She graduated and got the PhD in Astronomy at the University of Bologna and then obtained several post-doc fellowships in Austria, USA and Italy. In the period 2010-2012 she was a Research Associate at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (USA). Since 2013 she is an Assistant Professor at the Physics & Astronomy Department (DIFA) of the University of Bologna, where she currently teaches three courses, including "Astrophysics Laboratory (radio interferometry module)", and supervises several Master and PhD students.
Myriam Gitti is author of more than 55 papers in international journals (h-index=21) and gave about 30 talks at international conferences and institutes. She has been the Principal Investigator of ten observing proposals at large international facilities. She contributed to the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) White Book (2015) and is a member of the working groups of the ESA X-ray mission Athena.
