Myriam Gitti is an extragalactic astrophysicist with main interests in the properties and evolution of clusters of galaxies derived from multi-wavelength observations, in which she has long-term expertise primarily in X-ray and radio bands. She obtained the PhD in Astronomy at the University of Bologna (2003) and was awarded several post-doc fellowships in Austria, USA and Italy. In 2010-2012 she was a Research Associate at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (USA) and in 2013-2019 an Assistant Professor at the University of Bologna. Since November 2019 Myriam Gitti has been an Associate Professor at the University of Bologna, where she teaches three courses and supervises several Master and PhD students. She is author of more than 80 articles in international journals (h-index=28), has been the Principal Investigator of several successful observing proposals at large international facilities, and in 2019 was awarded a NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory Large Program.
