Keywords: Electric Drives Electrical Machines Power Elettronics Electric Motors

The research activity is mainly related to the design and the control of power electronic converters and of electric drives, in the fields of industrial automation, of electric vehicles and of renewable energy sources.

Presently the research topics are:

  • vector control of electric drives based on induction and brushless motors for high speed applications
  • vector control of electric drives based on induction and brushless motors for electric vehicle applications
  • sensorless control of induction motors
  • control of electric drives based on multiphase motors
  • control of AC/AC matrix converters
  • control of multiphase and multilevel converters
  • modulation strategies for voltage source inverters (three-phase, multilevel) and matrix converters
  • fault-tolerant electric drives
  • high torque density electric drives
  • control of wind turbines
  • control of linear and tubular actuators
