Curriculum vitae

Michele Fadda - PHD in comparative literature, film critic - teaches courses of History of Hollywood Cinema, Contemporary Cinema and Cinema and Cultural Studies. His work on cinema studies has focused on American and international cinema. He published a volume on the relationship between film and literature (Scritture del visibile. Itinerari del "vedere" e del "dire" tra cinema e letteratura, Roma, 2004), and a study on  the aestethic of contemporary film (Il cinema contemporaneo. Caratteri e fenomenologia, Bologna, 2009), and edited books on the golden age of Hollywood cartoons (What's up, Tex? Il cinema di Tex Avery, Torino, 1998; Il cinema di Chuck Jones, Milano, 2001), on contemporary cinema within convergent culture (Corto circuito. Il cinema nell'era della convergenza, Bologna, 2011), on classical American film genres (Screwball & Romantic, Bergamo 2002; Cose da un altro mondo. Percorsi nella fantascienza hollywodiana anni '50, Bergamo 2003; Lo specchio scuro. Percorsi del noir hollywoodiano 1940-60, Bergamo 2004),  on Japanese director Takeshi Kitano (Kitano Beat Takeshi, Roma, 1998) and on  Monte Hellman (American Stranger. Il cinema di Monte Hellman, Bologna, 2009). He edited, with Sara Pesce, the volume Lo schermo gigante. Studi in onore di Franco La Polla, Bologna, 2011
