Full Professor of Experimental Physics at the Bologna University, he is involved in High Energy Physics as an INFN research associate. He started his research activity on cosmic ray and astroparticle physics at the Gran Sasso Labs. Then he moved on neutrino physics with natural and artificial beams. Currently he's working at CERN's LHC, as a member of the ATLAS Collaboration, looking for new physics beyond the Standard Model. He is author of more about 600 papers on international journals.
