Research interests. Synthesis, modification and characterization
of polymeric materials; synthesis and characterization of ionomers;
study of reactive blending of polymers; preparation and
characterization of polymer based nanocomposites. Flame resistance
of polymer from renewable resources.
Publications: 70 papers published on journals with IF; two
chapters in books; 15 international patents (co-inventor)
Coordination of research projects funded by the University of
Bologna (RFO program) from 2002 to 2008. From 1997 to 2008:
co-responsible of a research project between Dept. of Applied
Chemistry and Material Science (DICASM) and the Global Research
Center of General Electric (USA)on several topics concerning
catalysis applied to polyester production, polymer modification and
nanocomposite preparation and characterization.
Since 2012 he is scientific coordinator of Lab4PAck, a joint
initiative between CIRI MAM and Sacmi. The laboratory is focused on
development of new packaging applications for traditional and
innovative materials and processing technologies.
