Research

Keywords: G.W.F. Hegel, German Idealism, Ethics, Ontology, Aesthetics, Political Philosophy, Memory, 20th Century Italian Literature, Resistance, Philosophical Anthropology, Freedom, Political and theoretical history of solidarity, Responsibility, Schuldfrage

My research interests lie at the intersection of of theoretical analysis and ethical-political investigation, with particular reference to the work of G.W.F. Hegel and the relationship between freedom and necessity (theoretically and ethically understood); the relationship between philosophical anthropology, ethics, political action and the historical dimension (with specific studies on the Resistance to Nazi-fascism and the history of Nazi-fascist deportation); the aesthetics and politics of memory and the dialogue between philosophy, ethics and literature (within which I analyse the processes of transfiguration of personal experience and testimony). Recent research investigates the theoretical-moral-political geneaology of the category of solidarity and the 20th century evolution of the conceptual paradigms of Schuldfrage, responsibility and Vergangenheitsbewältigung.
