Short Bio

Matteo Cavalleri holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Milan and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Palermo. He has been a research fellow at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Bologna; a visiting researcher at the Humboldt Universität in Berlin and a fellow at the Department of Law of the University of Bergamo. In 2015 he won the Vittorio Sainati Prize. His research interests are developed at the intersection of theoretical analysis and ethical-political investigation, with particular reference to the work of G.W.F. Hegel and the theme of freedom; the relationship between anthropology and the historical dimension; the aesthetics and politics of memory and the dialogue between philosophy, ethics and literature. He is the author of La Resistenza al nazi-fascismo. Un'antropologia etica (Mimesis, 2015) and La libertà nella necessità. Saggio sullo spirito oggettivo hegeliano (ETS, 2019).
