Educational background: Born in Faenza, Italy,
in 1969, he received the M.S. degree in nuclear engineering and the
Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of
Bologna, Bologna, Italy, in 1992 and 1997, respectively. Since
1995, he has been with the University of Bologna, where he is
currently a Professor in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering.
Teaching activities: Starting from 2000, he has given
courses of Electrotechnics to graduate students in the fields of
engineering. He is a member of the Teaching Board of the PhD school
in Electrical Engineering and has been responsible, as tutor, for
several PhD students.
Research activities: His research interests have mainly
concerned electromagnetic design optimization, circuit analysis and
synthesis of lumped and distributed networks, electromagnetic
modelling of materials, analytical and numerical methods for
electromagnetic fields analysis, and applied superconductivity. He
contributed to these sectors with experimental activities,
theoretical investigations and numerical and modeling studies. He
is author or co-author of more than 60 publications on these
subjects.
